So what do Cyclones, Zephyrs, Thunder, Dust Devils, a Storm, and the Sun all have in common? And is there a connection between these phenomena and this time of year? Of course there is! Baseball season is here, and each of these important members of the weather family adorns the uniform of a minor league baseball team. As you can tell, the names of these teams are associated with phenomena that are frequent occurrences in the springtime. Cold temperatures are currently giving way to warm ones as often as starting pitchers give way to closers. So grab your climatological scorecard, because we are ready to provide you with a major league roster of information and statistics that are sure to cover all of your weather bases. And, if you need more proof that our national pastime and weather are inextricably linked, you need look no further than the words of the iconic Nuke LaLouche:
"Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, and sometimes it rains."
