To borrow from the quotable Yogi Berra, "it's déjà vu all over again!"
If you read last week's Fox Weather Game Day Radar blog, you would have been prepared for the miserable weather that plagued NCAA games on the west coast. Last week's selections for FumbleFest of the Week (Oregon at Cal and Washington St at Stanford) featured a multitude of turnovers. The day-after papers characterized the game in Berkeley like this:
"Under a windy downpour that only got worse throughout the afternoon, Memorial Stadium's synthetic turf was marshy by halftime in Berkeley's worst game-day rainstorm in a decade." Never underestimate the power, or curse, of the Fox Fumblefest selection!

This week, per Mr. Berra's quote and an aptly named mascot, the Oregon Ducks will lead a selection of Pac 10 Fumblefests for a second consecutive week. Another in a line of Pacific storm systems will create havoc for three Pac 10 games this weekend. Steady rain will be a virtual guarantee for Stanford at Oregon, Arizona at Washington State, and Arizona State at Washington.
In addition, a hint of winter will make an appearance as Ohio State will play Northwestern amidst light snow or flurries. If you are planning on attending any games across the Big 10 or the MAC, bundle up! It's going to be the coldest weekend of the year thus far for games in these regions.
There is one more possible Fumblefest in the works. It appears that the storm system working its way through the northeast will arrive just in time for Saturday night's Notre Dame - Boston College game. We'll call for an 80% chance of showers during the game.

The next to last race for the Sprint Cup is the Checker O'Reilly Auto Parts 500 at the Phoenix International Raceway. For the first time in two months, perfect race day weather will take a pit stop, yielding to windy conditions with gusts to near 30 miles per hour and a very slight chance of showers. If you have ever driven a car on a highway at 70 mph with a gusty wind at 30 mph, I would not recommend trying it driving at twice that speed! Wind will be a factor during this race.
If you have a specific question about weather for a game that you will be attending this weekend, feel free to ask here, and don't forget to check out Nick's NFL game day blog on Sunday!
