NCAA

In previous Game Day Radar blogs we have featured a FumbleFest of the Week. These are college games where the weather conditions make handling the football an adventure. From the Michigan - Notre Dame game (a combined 8 turnovers) to Rhode Island - Boston College (a combined 6 turnovers), Fox Weather FumbleFests have been running an average of 3 turnovers above the the other NCAA games on the schedule.

Although perfect fall weather will be in place over most of the country, storm systems on both coasts will provide for three Fumblefests this week.

Florida State at Miami - Showers and thunderstorms are likely throughout this heated rivalry game in Dolphin Stadium. In fact, lighting could result in game delays as the NCAA has become much more cognizant of the safety threat that lightning poses for fans and players alike. Any storms that occur during this game will very likely dump heavy rain.

Arizona State at California - A strong fall storm system is making its way into the Pacific Northwest and Northern California. This storm system will result in a 60% chance of showers during the game in Berkeley.

Hawaii at Fresno State - As the Pacific storm system moves inland during the day on Saturday, a 70% chance of rain will greet fans in the Valley for the WAC opener for Fresno State.

MLB

The baseball playoffs are in full swing with NL games on Saturday in Milwaukee and Los Angeles. Since Milwaukee has a roof, and Los Angeles is, well, Los Angeles, weather will not play a deciding factor in either game. On Sunday, perfect conditions will greet Red Sox fans as they try to dispose of the Angels. The game time temperature will be in the 50s with a light north wind. In Chicago, the White Sox and Rays will deal a 40% chance of rain showers as the Rays attempt to reach the ALCS for the first time.

NASCAR

The AMP Energy 500 on Sunday in Talladega, AL will have the usual NASCAR weather. Green flag temperatures in the middle 80s under clear blue skies. As we have advised in previous NASCAR weather forecasts, use your sun screen and hydrate!

If you have a question concerning a specific sporting event this weekend, let us know, and Nick will be in on Sunday to talk NFL football weather!
